Giving is deeply embedded in the GCC’s culture and is evident in all aspects of society; from individual philanthropy, charities, NGO’s as well as corporate social responsibility programs. Time, money, educational programmes and shelter are a few examples of quantifiable giving across the GCC, promoting a spirit of tolerance and acceptance across cultures, ethnicities and religious beliefs.

2017 has been declared the ’Year of Giving’ in the UAE by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The year will see an increase in volunteering opportunities, CSR activities and the promotion and strengthening of the culture of giving for the next generation. It is on this backdrop that the 14th edition of the CSR event Ta’atheer will take place, with a focus on sustainable giving. The forum will highlight new areas of growth for charitable and corporate responsibility programs as well as develop social impact projects to maximize the impact of sustainable giving across the region.

Gathering corporates, governments, NGOs and charities from across the GCC, attendees will have unlimited networking and partnership opportunities, as well as the chance to take part in productive dialogue to learn best practice and exchange expertise throughout the two conference days.

WHAT IS TA’ATHEER

Businesses can no longer think of social and environmental issues as purely ethical considerations and deal with them through traditional philanthropic activities. Businesses and investors are now looking for opportunities and ventures that can generate sustainable social impact and value to the economy and community they operate in.

Ta’atheer – the Middle East Social Impact & CSR Forum

Ta’atheer is Arabic for impact, influence and creating legacy. The new name encompasses the change in mind-set of businesses and investors that are socially responsible to focus on social programmes that ensure sustainable impact and value
